Let me first preface this by saying that I hate Wal*Mart. I refuse to spend money there. However, I will TAKE money from them, no problem. Who wouldn't?

I have been calling various grocery stores and the like to try to procure gift certificates or food for an upcoming barbeque for the organization I volunteer for, the Mary Magdalene Home of Alaska. So I call a Wal*Mart and am connected to a very apathetic sounding guy named Oscar. I said, 'Hi! I was calling to see if your Wal*Mart would be interested in a making a charitable donation to the Mary Magdalene Home.' He goes, 'Who's that?'

Heh. It doesn't bother me that he didn't know what the MMHA does, but it's funny he thought the Mary Magdalene HOME was a person. But so far, that Wal*Mart has been the most receptive. I don't think it's hit up much for donations, so hopefully they will give us LOTS AND LOTS OF MONEY. We've got people to feed!
